Introduction to Question Manager
Question Manager is the application you'll use to create your test
questions. There are several type of questions that you can build
either from scratch, by copying an existing question or using the
question Wizard. This document walks through creating three of the
more common types of questions:
* Hint: Try to use a single Test Question Database for all of your
questions. If you need to organize your questions into separate
categories such as course or chapters, create separate topics and/or
subtopics.

Multiple Choice
- Launch Start | Perception | Question Manager
- Make a new Question Database. Name the filename Practice.
Save the file on your H: drive.
- Click Create.
- Type topic name: Jack & Jill
- Select Question | Add Question. Select With
the Wizard and click Next.
- Select Multiple Choice and click Next.
- Enter question wording: Why did Jack and Jill go up the hill?
- Type Purpose as the question label; click Next.
- Type each answer choice and click Add.
- To get out of the smog
- To fetch a pail of water
- To escape the prying eyes of their parents
- To look at the view
- Check Shuffle Choices; click on Next.
- Highlight the right answer. Raise the counter to 5. Click on
Set and Next.
- Type in "No, this isn't right." for the incorrect
answers.
- Type in "Right! You really know your nursery rhymes."

- Click on Finish.
- Highlight the question. Click on the Tryout icon and
compare with example image above.

Multiple Response
- Select Question | Add Question. Select With
the Wizard and click Next.
- Select Multiple Response and click Next.
- Enter question wording: Which of the following are true of
Jack and Jill?
- Type True of Jack and Jill as the question label; click
Next.
- Type each answer choice and click Add.
- Jack tripped (maybe over his own two feet or a rock) and
fell down
- Jill fell down and scraped her knees
- They skipped up the hill, hand in hand
- They filled a bucket with water
- Jack bumped his head when he fell
- They slid down the hill together
- Check Shuffle Choices; click on Next.
- Highlight the right answer. Raise the counter to 5. Click on
Set and Next.
- Type in "No, this isn't right." for the incorrect
answers.
- Type in "Right! You really know your nursery rhymes."

- Click on Finish.
- Highlight the question. Click on the Tryout icon and
compare with example image above.

Fill in the Blanks
- Select Question | Add Question. Select With the Wizard
and click Next.
- Select Fill in the Blank and click Next.
- Enter question wording: Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch
a pail of water. Jack fell down and broke his crown, and Jill
came tumbling after.
- Type Rhyme as the question label; click Next.
- Highlight went, fetch, water, crown, and tumbling.
Click Define Blank for each word.
- Raise the counter to 1. Click on Set and Next.
- Enter feedback which is always given: Jack and Jill went up
the hill to fetch a pail of water. Jack fell down and broke his
crown, and Jill came tumbling after.
- Click on Finish.
- Highlight the question. Click on the Tryout icon and
compare with example image above.
